Abstract

The article recaps the activities related to library research and conferences in the U.S. for 2005. The author credited the first national meeting of deans of schools of information science held at Penn State in Pennsylvania in September 28-30. The meeting entitled "The First Conference of the i-School Community-Bridging Disciplines to Confront Grand Challenges." The attendees were asked for their assessment and present discussion on ways to improve library science curriculum. Another interesting event was the completion of the article from Scott Nicholson of Syracuse entitled "Digital Library Archeology: A Conceptual Framework for Understanding Library Use Through Artifact-Based Evaluation". The article introduces an effective method of evaluating digital libraries to their users.
