Abstract
- The article reports on the bills, including an omnibus benefits package, passed by the U.S. Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee in 2006. Under one of the bill are provisions making GI Bill benefits more flexible to pay for noncollege training. This provision allows but not requires veterans to hire lawyers to represent them when applying for and appealing benefits claims. The benefits bill also includes a provision to remove the cremated remains of convicted murderer, Russell Wagner, from Arlington National Cemetery.
