Abstract
- The article examines the last 26 maiden parliamentary speeches of French prime ministers, starting from the one that Jacques Chirac pronounced on June 5, 1974, to that of Dominique de Villepin, on June 8, 2005. This collection of speeches represent 181094 lexical forms. In all the speeches, the topic of employment is used 328 times, which represents an average of a little more than ten times per declaration. In comparison, de Villepin uses it 44 times in his speech. In 1988, former French Prime Minister Michel Rocard inaugurated favoring concepts of consensual communication on the account of resolutions and ideological conflict. De Villepin is characterized in particular by a low number of negative specifications in the last two speeches of Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin. The article also presents a statistical table by the 2074 lexical forms.
