Abstract

The entry provides information on the French and Indian War from 1754-1763. The war was the fourth war fought between Great Britain and France in North America, but it was the first war between the two colonial powers that involved all of the colonies of each country. France controlled most of the territory in North America in 1754 and even though European treaties gave the land in the Ohio Valley to France, English colonists disputed these claims.
