The article discusses the changes in the care and handling of fresh cut flowers which were employed in some parts of the world but not in the U.S. The U.S. Department of Agriculture revealed that more than 60 percent of the cut flowers came from exports from different countries. According to Michel Reid, a post-harvest specialist, although there was a flower sales increase, consumption of cut flowers on a per capita basis is still low in the U.S. where culture partly explains.
