Abstract

The article offers information on the CHEMiCALC, a computer program which is useful for chemistry students. CHEMiCALC has two modes of operation namely the element mode and the formula mode. In the element mode, it offers several information regarding the chemical elements. The element mode can be useful to students in that it serves as a flashcard system for memorizing chemical names and symbols, it acts as a reference for information on chemical elements, and it provides graphs of trends in physical properties of the elements in the periodic table. The formula mode performs stoichometric calculations. Students use this mode to offer feedback in checking their work in several calculations involving chemical equations and stoichometry.
