Abstract: Chapter 15 of the book "The Emergence of European Sociology" is presented. It explores the contribution of conservatism in the nineteenth century to sociology in Europe. It highlights the conservatives opposing to the natural law of individualism of the French Enlightenment and Revolution. On the other hand, it examines the doctrines of equality, freedom and popular sovereignty.
