Abstract
- The article discusses the social stratification as a phase and process in community organization. The phase and process were defined in the study of social stratification, wherein the phase is a stage through which a social activity may pass in its change from a simple to a compound activity, while the process is a class of social change or interactions in which by abstraction a common pattern may be observed and named. Accordingly, some of the etiology of stratification was implied in every definition of social class, by shifting the emphasis in the section to the etiology itself the attention was now focused on some of the theoretical formulations that attempt to conceptualize various interactive processes in the society that generate social class.
