Abstract

The article focuses the stand of the British government on the debate over the full-face veil worn by some Muslim women and how Muslims are assimilating in the country. According to House of Commons leader Jack Straw, the veil is a visible statement of separation and difference and it jeopardizes the British social harmony. The prevalence of terrorism and the debate over veils have added pressures on British Muslims who have been complaining about discrimination for several years.
