A Musical Parabola.

The article discusses the author's experience of using a parabola in order to define great music at a talk he attended. He played different songs like Schubert's "Ave Maria" and "If I Loved You" from Carousel, played bouncy beats and catchy tunes like "Honey Bun" and "La donna e mobile" and finished off with "Exultate jubilate" by Mozart. He concludes that if you displace one note, there would be diminishment but if you displace phrase, the structure would fall.
