Abstract

The article presents a study from the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) in Buxton, Derbyshire, Great Britain, that provides guidelines, recommendations and practices for the practical application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to the modeling of smoke motility in enclosed spaces. It is mentioned that three fire safety engineering cases were modeled by the HSL, including a subway station, an accommodation module of an offshore platform and an under construction high-rise building.
