A profile of Magnus Hirschfeld, a theorist of sexuality and advocate of homosexual emancipation, is presented. When he began his world journey in 1930, he was described in the U.S. as Einstein of Sex and in India as modern Vatsayana of the West. He was born in the Prussian city of Kolberg, on the Beltic sea, on May 14, 1868. He studied modern languages and medicine. He took his degree in 1892. In some of his biographies, he has been depicted as gay.
