- Chapter 15 of the book "Peterson's Principles of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery" is presented. It discusses the principles of management of odontogenic deep fascial space infections. It enumerates the steps in the management of odontogenic infections. It notes that airway obstruction is the most common cause of death in reported cases of odontogenic infection.
