Abstract

The article discusses the case studies of various countries within the Nile River Basin. It reports that the riparian states in the Nile River have been involved in several bilateral and multilateral diplomatic initiatives to settle the dispute over the river, particularly since the 1980s. Relative to this, it also notes that Egypt has declared that the country is prepare to go war to defend its national interest over the river. The article also covers the national interest of the East African Community (EAC) and other foreign policy interests of other riparian countries in the Nile River.
