Abstract
- Chapter 3 of the book "The Politics of Military Base Closings" is presented. It outlines the history of U.S. domestic base closures and then proceeds to explain the increasing need for and eventual creation of the Base Realignment and Closing Commission (BRAC). The creation of the Interstate Commerce Commission was the result of widespread and longstanding anti-railroad agitation.
