Abstract
- The article reports on the construction project taken by Infratec International to upsize 700m of water pipe in Port Melbourne for alliance partner South East Water in Melbourne, Victoria. The project required Infratec to upsize a 225 mm diameter asbestos cement to a 355 mm diameter polyethylene pipe. Due to sandy soil and high water table, it was decided that an open trench might be prone to collapse and pipe bursting would be the preferred replacement method.
