Abstract
- The article presents information on the contemporary Iroquois artists and their heritage of complex carving tradition. It cites the three sculptors, Duffy Wilson, Stan Hill and Joe Jacobs, who began to sculpt works of art depicting Iroquois subjects in stone, bone and antler in the 1970s. According to the article, these sculptors did not turn to the carving of medicine masks or other traditional objects. Moreover, the influences that shaped the careers of the three sculptors are discussed.
