Convergence of the Multidimensional Agreement Algorithm when Communication Fades Away.

The interaction of agents seeking an agreement or consensus is modeled in higher dimensional space as a time-dependent process of forming convex combinations. It is proved that convergence to a consensus is still possible provided the strength of communication does not fade away "too fast" and the structure of communication becomes not "too loose". The relationship to results obtained in [1] on the agreement algorithm, in [3] on opinion dynamics and in [4] on particle interaction will be discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
