Abstract

The article presents a new grain-based algorithm used for network modeling, with the application of x-ray computed microtomography (XMT) as a research tool. According to the author, the algorithm differs with other approaches and showed several advantages. These advantages indicated that algorithm is computationally faster, less image resolution dependent, and mental granular structure of the material is connected to the network structure. Moreover, the use of XMT to image algorithm, applied to sandstone samples, provided a morphologic and flow-modeling results.
