Abstract
- The article reports that the 810 version of the PW800 series aircraft engine from Pratt & Whitney Canada (PW&C) has been selected for the Columbus 850 intercontinental jet of Cessna. A total of 36 orders for the engine has been placed by Cessna. John Saabas, executive vice president of PW&C, claims that the engine will pollute less, use less fuel and be much quieter than existing engines. It relates the PW&C is celebrating the 45th anniversary of its PT6 turboprop engine.
