Abstract

The article focuses on the function of computers. It states that computers are designed to solve mathematical problems and assure convenience in manipulating arbitrary instruments. Lady Lovelace claims that the discovery of the Analytical Engine have caused to adopt the notion on computational machine with potentially universal applications. Furthermore, Alan Turing connotes that distinction of computer as universal machine is based on its ability to follow rule-based procedures.
