Abstract

The article presents a study conducted in a tropical rainforest canopy near Manaus, Brazil, focusing on the nocturnal accumulation of carbon dioxide. It highlights the importance of using variability measurements of carbon dioxide in vertical profiles along a toposequence region. Particular attention was concentrated on seasonal and diurnal variations. These variations were recorded using atmospheric concentration maxima about dawn, higher build-up of carbon dioxide in the dry season, and stronger concentration of daytime carbon dioxide during the wet season.
