Abstract
- The article discusses the Tibetan Buddhist belief of reincarnation. The practitioner denies that there is a soul that might reincarnate, passing on from one body to another, but admits something similar to reincarnation namely rebirth. Their concept of rebirth maintains that there are causal connections between one life and another and that the following life is completely new but is conditioned by the old one. This can be compared to the flame of a nearly spent candle being used to light a new one.
