Abstract

The article discusses the result of a study concerning the association of promoter hypermethylation of the p16 gene with poor prognosis in recurrent early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma. It was found that negative expression of p16 at a protein level is associated with poor survival in recurrent stage I to II hepatocellular cancer.
