Abstract: The article discusses the result of a study concerning genomic DNA methylation among women in a multiethnic New York City birth cohort. The findings suggest that risk factors across the life course may be associated with DNA methylation in adulthood. Larger studies are needed to measure within-individual changes in DNA methylation over time.
