Abstract
- Chapter 11 of the book "Return to the River: Restoring Salmon to the Columbia River" is presented. It deals with the monitoring and evaluation of salmon restoration in the Columbia River Basin. It cites the need for a collaborative effort in the development of an effective program for the area. It concludes that although routine monitoring of upstream- and downstream migrating salmonids and of selected index populations has a long history in the Columbia River Basin, recent evaluation exercises have shown insufficient data for recovery planning.
