Perspectives on the Future of American Democratic Politics.

The article presents a perspective on the future of democratic politics in the U.S. The author argues that a stable government with power to overcome foreign threat and domestic disturbance is necessary, but not sufficient condition for realization of the fundamental principles of liberty and equality. He implies that liberty is an American, even universal, ideal, but insecurity tempts a flight from freedom, while inequalities that plagued the country still trouble them in modern forms.
