Abstract

The article presents a study on the interaction between endothelial cells and inflammatory cytokines in atherogenesis which may lead to endothelial dysfunction and inflammation. It notes that the ability of the tumor necrosis family member LIGHT to promote vascular inflammation could be involved atherogenesis. Results show that LIGHT, LIGHT receptors, and PAR-2 has enhanced expression and colocalization in endothelial cells and macrophages.
