Abstract

P-O fit is a widely examined concept in industrial psychology literature. However, it has not been incorporated in public relations scholarship. This study introduces a conceptual model that integrates P-O fit, communication, sensemaking, OI, and EOR outcomes. The model illustrates the following linkages: (1) Employee communication is positively associated with P-O fit; (2) sensemaking moderates the relationship; (3) P-O fit is positively related to organizational identification; (4) organizational identification positively correlates with EOR outcomes; (5) employee communication is positively related to EOR outcomes; and (6) P-O fit positively moderates the correlation between employee communication and EOR outcomes such that when P-O fit is high, communication predicts a trusting, committed, and satisfying EOR. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
