CHAMP: a novel collaboration between public health and the media.

The article focuses on the establishment of the Crikey Health and Medical Panel (CHAMP) in Australia in April 2007. It presents the goals of CHAMP, whose members would be encouraged to contribute articles and tips to Crikey, an electronic news bulletin established in 2000. Among the members of CHAMP include public health advocates, clinicians and consumers. It is inferred that CHAMP is an example of how the health sector can work with media professionals to develop a vehicle for discussion and debate.
