Abstract
- In this article the author discusses the appeal of violent extremism and Islamic jihad. He recounts the experiences of young terrorist recruits and their motivations for war and adventure in joining groups such as Al Qaeda. The author asserts that mass media depictions of terrorists should be altered with humor and a loss of mystique.
