Abstract
- The article reports on the demand for Republican Senator David Vitter of Louisiana to allow the nomination of Craig Frugate as chief of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) by the executive department of the U.S. government. The selection of Frugate, the head of the disaster-response operation of Florida, by President Barack Obama was commended by Democrats and Republicans. The senator cited his reason for delaying the nomination. Legislators who have requested Vitter to drop his opposition are cited, including Democratic Senator Bill Nelson.
