FLEXIBLE RISER FATIGUE RE-EVALUATION TO EXTEND THE SERVICE LIFE.

The article looks at the re-evaluation of the fatigue life of flexible risers at Petrobras fields in Campos Basin, offshore Brazil in an effort to extend service life. It describes the methodology used to conduct the re-evaluation of fatigue life which relies on determining the stresses in the tensile armour wires of flexible risers. The benefits of using the post-processor program FADFLEX are cited, including the fact that it allows fatigue evaluation to be readily obtained.
