Abstract

The article discusses the utilization of double contrast barium enema (DCBE) in identifying colorectal cancer (CRC) in Great Britain. It reveals that DCBE has been found to play essential role in locating benign and premalignant polyps which are the common determinant on the development of cancer. It states that bowel should be free from solid and liquid faeces when conducting DCBE and radiodgraphers should be able to clearly identify and offer images on the presence of polypoid lesions in the colon. The author states that when polyps are identified it should be removed through the process of polypectomy.
