Abstract

The article offers a study which examines whether the selected tagging single nucleotide polymorphisms (tagSNP) in the genes coding ADH1B, ALDH2, and CYP2E1 in Chinese Han population in China are associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) risk. It mentions that a novel locus CYP2E1 rs1329149 and a locus ALDH2 rs671 were found to be related to a moderate increase in the risk of developing CRC. It notes that further study is needed to confirm the association.
