Abstract

The article discusses the study which explores how transient receptor potential canonical (TRPC) channels influence cardiomyocyte calcium signaling. In the study, researchers used whole cell patch clamp of adult cardiomyocytes to upregulate the cation reminiscent to pressure maladaptive cardiac hypertrophy and cardiac function. The study found that TRPC1 channels contribute to biomechanical stress and failure to maladaptive hypertrophy.
