Abstract

The article reports on the case filed against the Social Security Administration (SSA) in the U.S. due to its failure to provide benefits for visually impaired recipients. Judge William Alsup of the District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco issued a ruling in favor of the American Council of the Blind (ACB) and two classes of 3 million SSA beneficiaries. It challenges the SSA to provide alternative formats enabling recipients to have equal access to SSA programs.
