Mediation: Another Option to Realize Justice.

Based on the movie "The Story of Qiu Ju", this article explores the function of civil mediation in China. Having examined China's judicial tradition that attaches much importance on mediation, it then focuses on discussing the role of civil mediation in the modernization of judicial system in China. The author argues that, except suit, civil mediation is another option to realize justice. Mediation can not only maintain the legal rights of the parties concerned, but also help to recover the relations between them. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
