Abstract

The article reports that U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a consent decree to approve state plans to control interstate air pollution from seven Western states in the U.S. or issue its own requirements. It notes that EPA has until May 10, 2011 to finally address the issue to prevent the states from contributing to nonattainment of ozone and particulate matter standards. It mentions that comments on the proposed decree will be accepted by EPA until January 6, 2010.
