Abstract
- The article presents a study which examines the host record for Macrobdella ditetra as well as the first record of leech parasitism in Sirenidae. It says that in spite of prevalence of leech parasitism in amphibians in North America, literatures contain less information on Macrobdella, which is believed to parasitize only amphibians. Upon exploration of widespread phenomenon of leech parasitism in siren family, it mentions that Macrobdella parasites exhibit feeding preference towards amphibians.
