THE DEFENCE WHITE PAPER AND THE IMPLICATIONS FOR NAVY.

The article focuses on the contents in 2009 Defence White Paper of Australia. It notes the strategic interests and associated policies are identified as fundamental components of the White Paper. Moreover, maritime strategy and its contribution to the White Paper's priorities and to the future of Australian armed forces are discussed. In addition, the implications of the White Paper to the role of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) are also explored.
