Abstract

The article discusses the International Workers' Movement and the standards for working hours in the period from World War I to the Great Depression. Topics discussed include background information on the Worker's Movement, including campaigns for the reduction of working hours, salary increases, and control over the labor market; the concept of 8 hours of labor, 8 hours of rest, and 8 hours for the family and leisure; and the labor union organization during the period of the World War and the Great Depression.
