Abstract
- The article presents a case study on orthopoxvirus-associated disease that was detected in horses in southern Brazil. The development of papules were seen in mares and foals from a husbandry farm. Results of a histological examination indicated vacuolar degeneration of the cells of the stratum spinosum. The study showed the association between orthopoxvirus and the outbreak of cutaneous disease in horses.
