Abstract

The article presents the four competitive swimming strokes including freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke and cites the combination of the four strokes as individual medley. It points out that each swim meet has a variety of events and distances that depends on the age group and classification. It indicates that in freestyle events, the competitor can swim any stroke, the most common of which is called the crawl. It provides the technical rules of swimming that give fair and equitable conditions in the competition and promote uniformity in the sport.
