Abstract

The article presents a case study of a 37-year-old woman with a body mass index (BMI) of 89 presented for a laparoscopic gastric bypass procedure. It describes the use of airway management to treat the obesity of the patient, including the preparation for the surgery. It reveals that the patient in the case study was maintained a 45° head-of-bed elevated position to maximize her pulmonary function.
