Variations in Program Loudness and Strategies for Loudness Management.

A conference paper regarding the loudness of various television programs and the strategies for loudness management is presented. It analyzes the loudness of prime-time programs from various television networks that were recorded from September to October 2008. It reveals a wide variation in the dialogue loudness of the recorded programs and suggests placing the proper quality control checks to make sure that program loudness agrees with the target loudness.
