Abstract

The article discusses digital citizenship. According to the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS), the concept refers to the ability to practice and advocate online behavior that shows ethical, safe and responsible uses of information and communication technologies. The author also cites the definition of Sara Bentivega, a researcher, of digital citizenship as the utilization of electronic resources to fulfill the duties of being a citizen of one's nation of residency like filling out online forms and accessing information about the government.
