Abstract

The article presents a study on the baseline characteristics, treatment response, and medication patterns of adults undergoing first episode and multiple episodes of mania. The European Mania in Bipolar Longitudinal Evaluation of Medication (EMBLEM) study and efficacy measures such as Clinical Global Impressions-Bipolar Disorder (CGI-BP) overall and Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) were used. Results revealed that first episode patients were younger, have higher baseline and degree of cannabis use, and shorter recovery and remission rates.
