Abstract
- The article focuses on enslaved women in contemporary Great Britain and the techniques that authors used to inscribe their voices. It references Bridget Anderson's "Britain's Secret Slaves" which asserts that overseas domestic workers are enslaved by their masters who psychologically and sexually abuse them. Anderson wrote their story through italicized first-person narration and through a narration of a case history. Ruth Rendell's "Simisola" concludes that current British laws are not prepared to help these slaves regain their self-dignity.
