Abstract
- Abstract: Lemierre''s syndrome is characterized by tonsillitis or peritonsilar abcess, a thrombophlebitis of the internal jugular vein, a bacteremia, and metastatic infections (most commonly, pulmonary abscesses) caused by the fusobacterium necrophorum. We report a case of a boy 4-year-old who in addition had a stenosis of the internal carotid artery as complication of the Lemierre''s syndrome. This syndrome is associated with a high mortality if the diagnostic and treatment are not realized promptly. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
